Challenge: Not Enough Force

A medical equipment manufacturer sought to upgrade their portable ultrasound machine using SPD™ Adjustable Locking Gas Springs for height adjustment. However, during initial testing, the application failed to reset the pin in the Gas Spring to lock the product, jeopardizing the product's usability.

Solution: Collaborative Support and Engineering

The ASRaymond engineering team collaborated closely with the customer to identify the root issue. To increase pin force output and resolve the problem, custom modifications to the Gas Spring's internal components were undertaken. This involved precision machine modifications and additional testing.

They were able to get quick answers to application problems that led to improved end-performance. In the end, the customer received a product that matched their application design and function.
